Studying abroad in Germany, major in nursing

Introduction

International students in general and Vietnamese students in particular always want to choose to study in Germany as a nursing profession, because there is always a shortage of nursing human resources in this country. Despite calling to attract labor supply from within the country or from European countries, Germany still does not meet social needs.

From 2019 and earlier, German vocational training in nursing was divided into 3 areas for international students to choose as follows:

• Elderly care (Altenpflege)

• Child care (Kinderpflege)

• Caring for the sick (Krankenpflege)

However, since 2020, the German vocational training program in nursing has been grouped by the German Government into one group with the specific name Allgemeine Pflege.

Why should you choose to study in Germany as a nursing profession?

By 2035, Germany has the highest rate of aging population in the world, the German government needs more than 500,000 nursing staff. So it can be affirmed that 100% of the nursing graduates studying abroad in Germany will have a job arrangement.

International certificate of skill when studying nursing in Germany

If you graduated from nursing in Vietnam, that certificate is not recognized internationally. In return, when choosing to study nursing in Germany, the certificate will be recognized throughout the EU.

100% tuition fee waiver when studying nursing in Germany

When you study nursing in Germany, you will be sponsored by the German Government with a 100% tuition fee waiver for the 3-year vocational training period. Therefore, you will save a considerable amount of money.

• The level of allowance offered by the German Government during the period of study abroad in Germany is at least €2,000 EUR.

• Internship with high salary, from €800 EUR/month during 3 years of study.

• Salary after graduation from €2,500 EUR/month, salary increase ≈ 10%/year.

Opportunity to settle down after studying nursing in Germany

• After graduating from school and working for 2 years, you will be able to legally reside in Germany.

• Having lived in Germany for 5 years, you can completely apply for German citizenship.

Nursing salaries in Germany

In Germany, the  nursing salary in particular and the salary of all other professions in general will have 2 types:

• Brutto salary: salary before taxes

• Netto salary: salary after tax, this type depends on the different circumstances of each person, but the salary also fluctuates differently (marital status, tax rate, geographical location of the state …)

New graduates will range from €2,500 – €3,000 EUR/month. This nursing salary in Germany is exclusive of tax and does not include allowances.

Conditions to study nursing in Germany

If you want to participate in the program study in Germany for nursing , you need to meet the following 2 basic conditions:

Prerequisites

• Age between 18-35 years old.

• Have a high school diploma.

• Healthy enough to live and work abroad according to regulations of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam

• There is a German B1 degree in Vietnam. If not, will be trained by HHD Academy.
